From Wednesday 5 August 2026, our practice will be introducing Anima, our new online consultation and communication system.
Anima will make it easier for patients to contact the practice, request help for medical and administrative queries, and ensure requests are directed to the right member of our team.
With Anima, you'll be able to:

Welcome to Mount Pleasant
​Providing patient care before the NHS formed, Mount Pleasant Practice is one of the largest provide of primary care in Monmouthshire.
​
With two well located, easily accessible surgeries in Wales: Chepstow & Portskewett. We’re here to make your medical care as convenient and accessible as possible.
​
Appointments are available 8:30am - 6:30pm Monday to Friday in Chepstow. We are open from 8:30am -12:30pm in Portskewett, then we reopen at 2pm - 5pm Monday to Friday.
We welcome all residents within the surrounding community.
Same day (urgent) and routine GP appointments are available at our sites. To request an appointment at any of our surgeries today use Klinik.

Outside of these times you can see a GP by calling the NHS Out of Hours Service.

We strive to make the registration process as easy as possible. If you would like to register with Mount Pleasant Practice simply complete our online registration form.

Mount Pleasant has been committed to delivering extensive and high quality primary healthcare services to the residents of Monmouthshire even before the NHS was formed. We see prevention as an essential component of primary care and hope to promote better health in the future for all our patients.

At Mount Pleasant we work as a team of health professionals for the benefit of all our patients. Our multidisciplinary team includes our Doctors, Pharmacists, Physician Associates, Nurses, Dispensary, HCA, Care Navigation & an Admin team.

For your convenience there is an onsite dispensing pharmacy in Cheptsow & Portskewett.
